A God-centered, worship-focused prayer app that efficiently organizes Scripture passages and prayer requests into categories and displays them in rotation based on priority.

Prayer can often present challenges in various ways. Finding the time for prayer, determining what to pray about, staying focused, avoiding repetitive words, and preventing it from becoming a mere checklist are just a few of these challenges. Prayer Prompter was carefully developed to address these difficulties by promoting faithfulness in prayer while maintaining a focus on God and His Word, rather than the self.

Prayer Prompter can be likened to a two-drawer file cabinet.

• The top drawer, "Meditation and Prayer," serves as a storage space for Scripture passages arranged by topic. It allows users to display as many passages as desired, prioritized according to individual preference. This feature facilitates Scripture-based prayer by providing an effortless way to read and reflect on key passages of the Bible on a regular basis. Engaging in this process of reading, reflection (i.e., meditation), and potentially heartfelt prayer fosters knowledge, understanding, wisdom, and connection with God. A simple "Amen" could suffice; the model prayer that Jesus taught his disciples was astonishingly concise!
• The bottom drawer, "Petition/Intercession," organizes prayer requests and answers by category, displaying them in rotation according to user-assigned priority. This feature ensures that users can efficiently manage their prayer requests while maintaining focus and intentionality.

The initial folders in the top drawer correspond to the popular "ACTS" method of prayer: Adoration (worship and praise), Confession (including contrition for sin), Thanksgiving (expressing gratitude to God), and Supplication (making known personal requests). This approach offers a well-rounded approach to communicate with God through prayer.

Inspiration for the design of Prayer Prompter was drawn from various sources:

• Psalm 119:15-16 expresses the commitment to meditate on God's precepts and to remember and delight in His Word.
• Psalm 115:1 asserts the importance of giving glory to God's name, acknowledging His mercy and truth.
• Dick Eastman highlights that praise and worship establish the foundation for prayer, recognizing God's sovereignty and power.
• John MacArthur describes godly prayer as an act of worship, demonstrating adoration, humility, desire for God's will, and reliance on Him for all needs.
• Daniel Henderson underscores the significance of seeking God's face before His hand, emphasizing the essence of who God is and His provision for our needs.

Prayer Prompter offers over 600 Scripture passages from the New American Standard Bible (NASB) with permission from The Lockman Foundation. The NASB, first published in 1971 and updated in 1995, is widely recognized and trusted for its literal English translation. With a focus on accuracy, clarity, and readability, this version inspires better understanding of God's word by conveying the original meaning as penned in Hebrew, Aramaic, and Greek.
